OSF Summer Camp

One Step Forward (OSF) Summer Camp will commence in June and will end in August with a spectacular program displaying the talents of all camp attendees.  Students are grouped according to age.  Group 1 consists of students’ ages 5 – 8 and Group 2 consists of students’ ages 9 – 12.  Both groups will be given instruction in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, *HipHop, Tutoring and Arts & Crafts.

Hours of Operation*
The hours of operation are Monday – Friday 9:00am – 3:30pm.  Before care hours are 6:30am – 9:00am and aftercare hours are 3:30pm – 6:00pm.  All students must be picked-up no later than 6:00pm each day.  There is a babysitting fee per child for every 15-minute interval after 6:00pm.

Responsibility of Studio Staff
No child will be allowed to leave the studio premises for any reason unless otherwise notified in writing by the parent.  Such notification must be presented in the form of a written authorization and contain the child’s destination once released from the studio, as well as a contact person and phone number.

You Must Come Into the Studio to Pick-up Your Child(ren)
Parents must sign their child(ren) out of the studio every day.  If someone other than the parent will be picking up the child from the studio, we must be informed in writing of the person’s name and provided with a phone number should there be a need to contact them.  Proper identification will be required before the child can be released.

Attire
Students must wear the appropriate attire during class.  The attire consists of black leotards, capezio suntan tights, pink ballet slippers and black tap shoes.  Students should wear this attire on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which are dance days.  You may speak with the project director and/or teacher concerning the appropriate tap shoes for your child’s level.  Camp T-shirts must be worn on all field trips and outside activities.  All items may be purchased through the studio boutique.

Recital*
OSF’s Summer Camp recital will be held in August at Bishop McNamara High School, 5800 Marlboro Pike, Forestville, MD from 5:30pm-6:30pm.  Each child will be provided with two tickets.  Additional tickets will be available.

All participants will be in costumes for their ballet, jazz & tap routines.  Costumes will be available for all ages.  Costume payments are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.  The costume accessories will be available through DanceMakers for a minimal cost.  You will be provided with a costume accessory list on or before July 9, 2005.

Withdrawals
A two-week written notice of withdrawal is required by any person wishing to terminate their contract with the studio. Such notice must contain the reason for withdrawal and payment for the weeks must accompany the notice.  Upon full satisfaction of student’s account, a confirmation of withdrawal letter will be sent.

Field Trips*
Scheduled field trips will be conducted every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  THERE ARE NO CLASSES WHEN FIELD TRIPS ARE SCHEDULED – THE STUDIO IS CLOSED!  Parents should make other arrangements for their child(ren) if they will not be participating in scheduled trips.  Permission forms are required by all students for each scheduled trip.  If a permission form is not received, your child(ren) will not be permitted on the field trip.

A minimum of three chaperones is needed for each field trip.  Each chaperone is required to pay for bus transportation and admittance fee.  One Step Forward’s field trip schedule will be available in May.  Please note that field trips are subject to change due to inclement weather.

Meals
Students should bring a bag lunch every day unless otherwise stated by the studio.  The studio is not equipped with a refrigerator to store food.  We do have soda machines located in the studio to provide cold soda, water and juice.  Students may purchase their meals during field trips if desired, however, make sure the money is secure.  We are not responsible for any lost money or other items.  Parents should provide a snack for before care unless otherwise informed by the studio.  Please make sure that all items are disposable.
